Honda has officially opened bookings for its
much awaited Amaze sedan throughout the country. The Honda dealerships
are accepting bookings at an amount of Rs 21,000. The Amaze will be
launched officially throughout India on April 11, 2013 and Honda has
already started production of the model to ensure it has enough
inventories to cater to the car’s demand.
Interestingly,
all the pre-launch advertising that Honda is currently indulging in
does not show much of the Amaze sedan – instead, it talks about the new
diesel engine. The carmaker is strongly advertising the engine, its
merits and the three important figures that it has to offer – 100 PS,
200 Nm and 25.8 kmpl. Honda claims that the Amaze is the most fuel
efficient diesel car in the country today. The Amaze will be available
in petrol too, which will be powered by a 1.2-litre engine.
Speaking
of which, Honda dealers who have partnered with OnCars tell us that the
footfalls in showrooms have increased significantly after the
announcement of the Amaze and the response for bookings has been
overwhelming. Some dealers also say that they have a lot of returning
customers who want to trade-in their older petrol Honda cars for the
Amaze diesel. Honda Cars India is also said to be working on special
loyalty bonuses and exchange schemes to attract more prospective buyers.
