Airtel disclosed its new 3G service data plans in Bangalore–Karnataka circle. The plans offered by Airtel are not so attractive but at-least we can have a rough idea what all plans can companies offer to us in coming few days.The minimum 3G Data Plan by Airtel starts from Rs. 9 per day, but there is no Unlimited Data Plans at the moment. The plans are as follows:-
Rs. 9 for 10 MB Validity 1 day
Rs. 45 for 40 MB Validity 3 days
Rs. 60 for 65 MB Validity 3 days
Rs. 103 for 100 MB Validity 30 days
Rs. 200 for 250 MB Validity 30 days
Rs. 450 for 600 MB Validity 30 days
Rs. 750 for 2 GB Validity 30 days.
All the 3G plans includes Video calling at 5p/sec for both Local and STD calls.
For those who use internet frequently and ranked as Heavy Users, Airtel has a nice package for them Rs. 650 plan which offers 1.25 GB data usage for 30 days. After 1.25GB, VBC of 1p/100KB .
Airtel have got 3G licenses for 13 circles across India, but it will take some more time and it will be available through collaborations with other service providers and expected date for that is end of March 2011.
Airtel 3G data cards will also be available in two different speeds 3.6 Mbps and 7.2 Mbps as there rates are not out yet.
For activation of 3G service on your Old SIM you just have to SMS 3G to 121 to enjoy 3G services as existing 2G SIM.
After the activation of 3G Data Plan on your SIM the default plan will be activated known as “Pay As You Go” and your data usage will be charged as 30p / 20kb (approx Rs. 15/Mb) quite expansive.
