Is it worth counting Omicron cases

 With the variant omicron already spread across the globe in almost all countries except a few the question arising is what is world going to do with just counting and keeping the record of infected people with this particular variant. 

This question arises due to double standards reported all across the globe by WHO calling it variant of concern Scientists implying that variant is mild without severe consequences in terms of health and Governments just watching for someone to die for calling the shots. 

Since 24th November 2021 when South African scientists reported first one whole world media is counting the infected and spreading panic due to dual standards. 

The question now arises is why WHO termed it variant concern in first place if it is going to cause just mild symptoms such short fevers and coughing. It is high time WHO should rerate the virus from Concern to Interest let leave all Governments spending on tracking and tracing the variant and spending productive time in unnecessary guideline and policy decisions.
