The reason behind the
recall of 1,66,021 cars is potential issues related to the power
steering system hose and the rear twist beam in cars manufactured
between January 2010 and June 2012. The examples of Ford Figo and Ford
Classic sold between January 2011 till June 2012 will be checked for the
issue related to RTB (rear twist beam), while the ones sold between
January to August 2010 and between March and
November 2011 will be
inspected for the Power Assisted Steering (PAS) issue. The company will
replace the affected parts if required.
So, if you own any of the two cars, we suggest you get in touch with the nearest Ford dealer,
although the carmaker says that it has started contacting owners of the
cars manufactured in the above mentioned period. Ford also maintains
that it hasn't received any complaints regarding the two parts.
