We know that our Gujarati brothers
are great businessmen but this is a slightly odd scheme, isn't it? A car
for free, and that too a premium hatchback? Well that's what the report
says. According to The Times Of India, a Skoda
dealer in Gujarati is running a scheme under which if you buy a Skoda
Rapid today, you'll get a
base variant of the Fabia for free, but after
five years from the date of purchase of the Rapid. If you buy a petrol
engined Rapid, the Fabia you'll get after five years will be petrol
engined too, and diesel in case the Rapid you buy is a diesel.
The
dealer, called Torque Auto does have a very tempting offer but five
years is a long time. And Fabia will go through a number of revisions in
this period, and what if there's an entirely new product, in place of
the Fabia? Rest assured, the agreement that the dealer signs with the
customer states that the dealer will either provide the model that
replaces Fabia or pay Rs 3-5 lakh, in case there's no replacement
available.
The
offer was introduced on February 26 and since then there has been a
rise in sales. The report says that the dealer has sold 600 cars since
then. Well why won't it, it's after all a very sweet deal!
