Google ranked the most popular Mobile web
Bangalore: Opera Software's latest State of the Mobile Web top 30 list ranked Google as the most popular websites on mobile phones. Google returned to the top post this year which was held by Facebook in 2009.
Opera notes that its Mini browser saw significant increases in unique users, pages viewed and data consumed.
Opera list of top 10 websites globally are 1. Google, 2. Facebook, 3. Vkontakte.ru, 4. Youtube, 5. Odnoklassniki.ru, 6. Yandex.ru, 7. Yahoo, 8. My.opera, 9. Mail.ru and 10. Getjar.The top 10 websites in the U.S. includes 1. Google, 2. Facebook, 3. Youtube, 4. Wikipedia, 5. Yahoo, 6. My.opera, 7. Accuweather, 8. ESPN.go, 9. NYtimes and 10. Myspace.
The microblogging site Twitter has gained more attention in the Opera report while the social networking site Friendster is decreasing in popularity on a global basis. Twitter has gone up eight places to the 13 position in the ranking.
Nearly 80.0 million people used Opera Mini in November, 44.6 billion pages were served, and 6.3 petabytes of operator data were compressed for Opera Mini users.
